| Powerpoint
is world's first multi-media poetry show. Situated in the
stark, surreal rhetoric of the corporation and designed to
give the gutsy poetry of Aisle16 a visual lift, Powerpoint
brought together satire and verse in a truely ground breaking
way. They took the show to the world's biggest performing
arts festival to try it out ...
Suited in the essential uniform of the paranoid urbanite,
the Aisle return to Edinburgh for their third fringe festival
run...
Each evening begins with the detonation of the Aisle16 data-bomb:
Graphs, acronyms, sharp suits, 80s power ballads and corporate
verse, all crammed into one hour-long seminar. With Powerpoint,
Aisle16 manages to reach record audiences, as well as receiving
generous critical acclaim.
But
Aisle16 are never off duty. On the Royal Mile, Aisle16 are
diligently branding all potential achievers. If you see another
person wearing a WINNER sticker, why not stop and talk to
them? Perhaps you can swap BMWs for the day. Or maybe just
come together to gloat over a tramp.
The Aisle also make stage appearances at the Fringe opening
party, a theatre in Portobello, and the Fringe Sunday event
(looking like someone had just dug them up).
By
the end of the festival, a city is motivated. Every Jimmy
Carr poster in the city has been stencilled, and Aisle16 are
beginning to believe the spurious motivational dogma that
falls out their slogan holes.
The run ends with a group hug with the audience, and Aisle16
allows Joe Public to cry on their shoulder one last time.
With only the stencil at the top of Arthur’s Seat to
remind us of our victory, we piss off back to the jobs we
have spent the last month parodying.
Aisle16 would like to thanks all Edinburgh achievers, plus
anyone else who was willing to get up each morning and bite
the arse of a bear. Grateful support from the East to Edinburgh
crew.
